Check your district heating system

There is money to be saved by detecting leaks. If municipal water is added to the district heating system, you will not only have to pay for water that you do not benefit from, the lifespan of your heating installation will also be reduced.

It is therefore a good idea to check the heating installation.

Before you start the test, make sure your washing machine and dishwasher are not in use.

1. Check for leaks in the heating system as follows: (If you have a system that you do not have to fill with water yourself)

• Find the two main taps where the district heating enters your property, and then CLOSE the tap that is coldest.
• The hottest tap MUST be open . Wait a few minutes. Look at the district heating meter. Click forward to display l/h. If the display is greater than 0 l/h, this may indicate a leak. Contact Havndal District Heating 86470915 If the meters do not read 0 l/h
• Display of current water flow l/h – i.e. indication of how many liters of water are currently circulating through the heating system per hour.

2. Leaks in the hot water tank or hot water exchanger can be checked in the following way:

• Both main taps for the district heating must be open. Close the stopcock to the water meter. Now open a hot water tap. Look at the water meter. The wheel must be stationary, otherwise the stopcock will not close tightly and the test cannot be used.
• If the wheel in the water meter is stationary and hot water continues to come out of the hot tap, there is a leak.
• The district heating water is colored green.
